Description

  • SOLR's clustering plugin contains log4j and SOLR's top level has slf4j support – we don't use log4j directly, log4j could be removed from the repo.
  • pcj has been replaced with mahout-math,
  • simple-xml can be integrated with SOLR (license change),

A patch that replaces downloaded libraries with the current non-LGPL equivalents. Does apply cleanly, but won't work at the moment because of Lucene 2.9 used in SOLR (incompatible APIs, exceptions thrown at runtime).

This issue is actually a follow up to 3.2.0 (and requires SOLR's upgrade of Lucene).

After some thought, we can't resolve this issue until we actually release the official 3.3.0 binaries. Moving out of this release then.

Carrot2 plugin for Solr has received a major upgrade after we removed dependency on Lucene API, so this issue is not valid any more.
