I tried with many versions of JDIC, but none seem to work under Vista (when run from WebStart). Further investigation required (or rewrite to SWT .

A workaround for Vista users is to download the application and run it locally (then it works just fine) or run on plain-Java HTML browser – the link to head's browser running in this mode version is here:

Setting fix for, so that the issue appears on the road map.

I'm not sure if we want to have it for 2.1.1 – that's why I didn't mark the fix for version... but ok.

I've been on this for the past 4 hours. No luck. It seems that JDIC does not receive messages from the native component (IeEmbed.exe) when run by Java Web Start. This must be JWS-related because everything works just fine when the program is executed from command line.

I suggest a "Won't fix" on this issue, at least until the next release of JDIC...

+1, at some point we'll shift to RCP anyway.

A temporary workaround is to either disable UAC or run javaws in administrator mode...

This issue is related to UAC (User Access Control) in Windows Vista. Disable UAC, run in Administrator mode or download and execute the browser application locally.
